I'm working on a VS.Net 2003 project on my local dev box. Everything is fine if I recompile the project and run it. However, if I close the project and run it right after that, the Application_Start() routine will
not be fired. To get it to work, I have to either recompile the project or wait for about 10 minutes. It looks like the state is being cached somewhere.
Could someone give me a clue? I appreciate your help!

The application remains running (look for aspnet_wp.exe on Windows XP or w3wc.exe on W2K3 in Task Manager). This is pretty much what you would expect (stopping debugging shouldn't stop the ASP.NET worker process).
If you want to force it to run from scratch, you can either edit web.config (using notepad, say), which will force a restart, or terminate the worker process (using Task Manager).
