I am trying to integrate an existing login application into the DotNetNuke framework. Using our custom modules which connect to our seperate application database is working great so far. Now i would like to mimic the DotNetNuke login when you login to
our application so i can make use of the security roles and permissions for displaying or not displaying certain modules/pages.
At first i thought maybe DNN used session variables to control the login process but when I displayed all of my session variables i found that it did not. When i turned all my cookies off however i noticed it trying to set a ".DotNetNuke" cookie. When I
blocked this cookie from being set it acted as if i had never logged on.
Eureka!!! I have found the key to my problem. I viewed the source of the ".DotNetNuke" cookie and it looks like a Base64 string. Does anyone know how this is set? Where this is set? Or the contents of the Cookie?
Thanks in advance,

I figured out whats going on. That is a cookie that is set by Forms Authentication mode. I found out what i really need to do is create a custom DotNetNuke authentication module that points in all the right directions. I have no idea how to go about doing
