I am trying to develop a smart application for a PPC, and I found IBuySpy as a godsend. The code is extremely helpful, unfortunately the install isn't.
I am running a Windows 2003 server machine with SQL 2005, VS.net 2005, II 6. I downloaded the .net SDK, I have the SQL Mobile Server Tools installed. I installed the website and everything worked fine. I have ASP.net 2.0 installed. I am the administrator
of the machine as well. I think I covered everything?
I run the install, click proceed with install, and it says: "The IBuySpy samples require the .NET framework, SQL Server, SQL Server Mobile, and IIS. Please install the missing components".
I have all these components installed, I really don't understand. I even tried following the manual steps, and that doesn't even work. I am getting very frustrated, and I can't find any reason why this wouldn't be working. I really would appreciate some
Oh and if anyone has messed around with the PPC C# project, do you have any suggestions to get the PPC emulator to connect to the local server? I get an error about connecting to IIS, which I googled and found that the PPC probably doesn't have internet
access. I have active sync installed, and I tried cradling the emulator, as suggested in an article from a MS employee, but I keep getting the same error and cannot connect to "localhost" or if I put in my machine name.

IBuySpy and the Portal Starter Kits were developed for VS.Net 2002 and/or 2003 and SQL Server 2000. My suggestion would be to use the Web Application Project to convert it to VS2005. See this post http://forums.asp.net/thread/1213728.aspx
for a success story.
Sorry, no experience with PPC development.
