Right now I am using VS 2003 on my system and thinking to develop next application with VS 2005. The problem is I need to often open my old projects that were developed with VS 2003, can I open projects developed with VS 2003 in VS 2005 without converting
it to newer version.

What about the framework? Can I run two .NET frameworks on the same system side by side?

IIS can host both asp.net 1.x and asp.net 2.0 apps side-by-side by running them in their own application pools. You can use inetmgr (type from start/run command line) and look at your various web apps on your site. If you click
properties on each one, and click the asp.net tab, you can see the asp.net version set for each web app.
Web apps you created with VS03 will have "asp.net 1.1" -- web apps created with VS05 will have "asp.net 2.0"
