Well after a couple of years with webhost4life, I've finally decided they are no longer for me. I've stood behind them when others have left but events over the past few weeks and the amount of money they have cost me has lead me to te decision that it is
time to move on. I can no longer recommend these guys as a host for any sites let alone DotNetNuke.
I'm looking for recommendations for a host to replace them with. My requirements are unilimited bandwidth or at least a lot of it every month. I would like unlimited domains on the root and unlimited subdomains. If they allow domains outside of root then
that would be great too. A decent control panel for managing the sites. I also need at least two sql DBs and DB owner access over my DB's. Space is not that big of an issue and I could get by with 50 megs or so. I'm not really looking to pay more than 50 a
month and would lovve cheaper if possible.
If anyone has any suggestions for a host that provides decent tech support and more importantly a decent amount of performance. I may even go with a semi dedicated VPS is someone knows of one that is not too expensive.

Tony, I looked at your site and your plans do not meet my requirements. Right now I'm out of town and I only have access to my company phone and I should not make personal calls on it. Once I get back to Atlanta I'll give you a shout and we'll see what we
can work out.
Anyone else have any suggestions?

I've heard some people say Crystaltech was great and I've heard not so good things about them too. I've been looking at a host aspnix.com but I do not know anyone who has hosted with this company. Their deal looks pretty good unless they just overload their
servers to. Does anyone have any experience with these guys?

If you are still shopping, I suggest you contact Jeff at
WebSecureStores. I'm sure they will meet your requirements. They host using dual xenon servers, make daily database backups that you have full access to, the list goes on and on. Very reasonable pricing and fantastic service.

I have looked at websecurestores. I'm not sure about their 25 megs on a database. Plus 1.95 per domain pointing to the root could get expensive in a hurry with what I thinking about here.

Well, I've solved my problem for the moment. I had forgot that about a year ago ServerIntellect passed out some accounts to various community members in order to promote their product. Well I was one of thos people but I've never used it. Its a pretty light
account right now but I can add features to it as needed. I put my site on there this afternoon and I can already tell a big difference in load times. I did break my email, but that's my fault and nothing to do with ServerIntellect. Right now
http://www.dynamicaspx.net seem to be doing a lot better than they where on the WH4L machines.

Um, I'll need to check out what might be causing the runtime error. You did not notice what the error message was did you? I left the error messages on since I was troubleshooting some other items last night with the compression.
I've had good luck with WH4L in the past, but I've come to the conclusion it really depends upon the server you are on there. Once they get a lot of people on one server that's when the performance seems to go down. Doesn't matter to me anymore since I'm
no longer there. hopefully they will refund my hosting fees for this year, but if they do not then I'll just chalk it up to experience.
Guess I know where those links from
http://www.iwebtool.com/speed_test now. That's a pretty cool site, thanks for turning me on to it.

Has anyone tried aspnix.com?
Nick, they where on my list and I may still open an accoutn with them. I'm not positve they are going to have the performance though. If you go to their site and then to the community forums. Their forums run CS 2.0 and it was not performing real well with
65 users online. The people their seem really nice and they will answer your questions fairly quickly.

I am in the painful process of making a decision as to which hosting company I should use. I found
www.serverintellect.com from this thread. I noticed your sites
http://www.dynamicaspx.net load very fast considering the content you have on the site.
What I would like to know is: do you still have these two sites hosted on serverintellect? If so, can you please tell me which hosting plan you are using there?
Your reponse would be greatly appreciated.

I am quite happy with my host, one is http://www.boundgrid.com/ another one is
both supports asp.net 2.0, unlimited domain name, sub domain name under certain amount of disk space, you can choose the .NET framework version (1.1 or 2.0) for your application through control panel. boundgrid.com is cheaper but using sql server 2000, webhost4life.com
supports sql server 2005.

I am also using webhost4life for some of my sites. The biggest problem is the performance. With webhost4life, it can be fast (or at least "ok") for some sites, but it can be VERY slow for some other sites. Even for the same site, sometimes it's faster and
sometimes it's slower. You never know... Right now all my sites are slow even though I've optimized my sites very well.
Like portvista, I really like their backup/restore feature. I don't think I can work without this feature. Now I am thinking about their semi-dedicated server, hoping that the speed issue can be improved with this plan. I was aslo thinking about getting
a dedicated server but was scared of the possible issues I have to deal with.
I noticed that www.snowcovered.com is hosted with webhost4life and it loads very fast (do a iwebtool test). I would very much like to know what kind of plan they are having.

You'll find me on the UK-US forum: http://www.dotnetnuke-hebergement.com/forum/tabid/58/view/topics/forumid/12/Default.aspx
As for me, I chose SeekDotNet, and I'm quite happy with them.

Over the past two to three weeks my webhost4life account has gone down for up to an hour and a half at a time at least 20 times. I didn't make any changes to the site. Then yesterday the site stopped coming up, period. I still can't get into it to figure
