I just migrated some ASP.NET applications to 2.0. I'm finding that my persistent authentication now no longer works. The cookie is being set as before and the session login is working fine but the persistence is not holding.
All was working fine in 1.1. I'm wondering if there is a fundamental change that needs to be made for 2.0 in forms authentication routine:
As HttpCookie = Request.Cookies(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName)
' This is to keep the dev -vs- live auth cookie names separate (could be rnd number)
authCookie.Expires = Now.AddMonths(

I think I found it. Did some further research into the new 30 minute timout for 2.0 persistent authentication and how to adjust in the web.config. So far so good. Nice - also allowed me to get rid of the ugly way I was setting the 30 day expiration originally
- took 13 lines of code down to 2.
