My basic problem is that I can’t open my VS projects in IDE but I think my problem has something to do with localhost which I in turn think has something to do with IIS.
Everything has functioned perfect earlier. I have many projects in the folder C:\inetpub\wwwroot. When I now try to explore localhost the folder is empty. When I try to ping localhost
I get an answer.
When I try to open the example project ‘Northwind’ in IDE the statusline says “Contacting server to open project ‘Northwind’. Then nothing happens. I can open projects with only .vb
files but not projects with .aspx (or similar) files.
I have reinstalled IIS and tried all possible combination of authentication for the Standard Webpage and for the project folders.
I address http://localhost in IE I get a welcome message saying (I have a Swedish version of the OS so the translation is perhaps not exactly right):” The web service is now running. You have not set up a standard webpage
for the users. … For the moment only iisstart.asp is available.”
I have installed iPod and a PCI card for wireless Internet over GPRS and 3G and I believe my problem might have started when I made these installations. It doesn’t help to uninstall
I have XP Professional and VS.NET 2003 Enterprise Architect.
