How is your site working out for you? Do you get people asking a lot of questions on using DNN? Or do they get the hang of it quickly?
Also, I see you have some OnyakTech modules your offering. If you email me at
ChrisOnyak@OnyakTech.com and let me know your DNN version I'll hook you up with some more newer modules in trade for feedback from your Portal Admins.

New modules are on their way over to you now.
I've setup several sites in the past using Portal Sign-Up (aka Portal Creator) and I found that it doesn't take much to get people cranking out new portals. The only issue was the learning curve, just as you are seeing. But once people get the hange of
it, they love it. The bottom line is do you want a simple and useless web site builder (then use MySpace), or a powerful web builder that has a learning curve (use DNN)? The only problem is taking the time to support all those users, unless your corporate
consulting company and can pay for a 24/7 technical staff. If you can pay for support, I recommend Call Centers 24/7 to handle the support since they know DNN very well and are active in this community.
I think DNN Portal Communities are on the rise and the only sites that are making it work are those who support their Portal Administrators. The only thing is that there are a LOT of modules out there, so this can be a daunting task. So to help out, I'll
hit your forums once in a while and answer any questions people have on my modules.
If you want to take this one step farther, create a section in your forum to support my modules or ...even better.... add a page to your site with SigmaPro Draconis on it and give me admin rights to it. This way I'll get email notifications once someone
posts a new requests and I can handle it right way instead of remembering to check the forums once in a while. This will give your Portal Admins a local area to go for information on using the modules from the creator. Hopefully, this will help get people
going faster with their portals and prevent any frustrations on learning DNN administration.
I'm designing a new version of the Portal Sign-Up (Now called Portal Creator) and I'm adding in your requests. Plan to have it out in April.

I know the pricing. I was just saying I think in reply to him was .. probably looking for a less costly open source more features version of dnnwiz.
So.. those features mentioned and authorize.net too would be great.

First of all thank you for the modules. It will take me a few days to install them all because I first install them on a testing environment to see the stability of the system.
Regarding the points you mentioned – my site is running for a year now, and I have a lot of statistics from the field. First of all it's a lot about marketing – the potential user
should know the benefits he is going to get by investing more time in the learning curve, but second, the Portal Maker site should take any possible way to make it easier on the user, because that users doesn't have a lot of patient. (The more you convince
them on stage one on the profits of the process, the harder they will try).
Regarding your suggestions, they are great but let's take this one step at a time. Some of your modules are already installed on the system, but no questions been asked so
far about them.
I will manage a showcase for the modules you sent to me. For more information for the benefits please read on this page:
I will watch closely on the feedback from portal administrators, and we will react according to the demand of support. In case we can't handle the questions on the regular help
forum (I will inform you personally if a specific question will occur so you won't have to monitor it daily) it would be possible to create a separate question section for your modules.
A good idea is to create a special showcase page for your modules with the ability of you managing the modules and showing the possibilities of usage.
There are currently 3 showcase pages on the site (Under the Resources menu). I can create a submenu for OnyakTech with all the installed modules on a separate page for each, and
your user on the site will have admin rights to these modules. You can add explanations on these pages using Text/HTML modules.
For each module installed I can create a special Article under the New Modules category .
An example :
On one of the Module Showcase pages, you will have SigmaPro Draconis with admin rights so you can use it as a showcase(Actually I don’t know what it can do and I sure lots of other
users don’t), but all information must be gathered at the forum for users to find it easily in one place (possibly under a specific thread for your products in the modules forum. You can sign to this thread to get mail notifications).
I have just created a new forum especially for modules discussion. (Till now it was all under General).
Some more suggestions regarding the portal creation wizard :
I think that when selecting skins there should be 3 phases :
A. Select Skin Group – For example BOR_007, BOR_008, Agency
You will show one of the images –or by choosing one in the settings panel (more complicated to achieve), or by supporting a special name of an image to be put in each skin to represent the Skin Group image – if this image is not present, you will show one of
the images present of one of the images in the Skin Group.
B. Select Skin – You will show only the skins in the specific group – BOR_800x600, BOR_1024X768 etc.
C. Select Container – the default would be to see only containers of the selected skin – there would be a drop down with all the containers group's names. The default would be to show the one that matches the chosen skin, but it would be possible to choose
When showing all the skins with no groups, it takes several minutes to load when having 50 skins installed, and the navigation is bad.
When you are done with the selection of site's properties, you shouldn’t be redirected automatically to the new site – you should see an information page with the new site's link
and your admin user, and a mail should be sent for the user with the info. (like it is done on
http://www.wowguilds.com – you should check this site up – 3000 portals created because of the ease of creation and use)
There should also be an help link on each page to explain the process, and small help icons.
