ASP.NET 2.0 does all the hooking up of code for you during compile time. Membership.validateuser is part the Memebership Class which is new to ASP.Net 2.0. Take a look at the tutorials section of the site and it explains in detail how Roles, Profiles, &
Members work and how it is all wired up. I am currently modify a C# version of the kit with custom Profiles, Roles and the master sheet as a learning a tool and adding more features as i go.
