Finally is my site up and running. I’ve only a small problem left.
When someone register on the site there’s no e-mail send to this person for validation.
I’ve tried several options /settings. But nothing work. I know for sure that the mail server sends email from (my internal) websites. I’m also experimenting with DotNetNuke. When someone register on that site,
he or she will receive a mail.
Does somebody have a solution.
Thanks for the help.

In Web Config write add this
And then in the register page add this in the codebehind
username = CreateUserWizard1.UserName.ToString
email = CreateUserWizard1.Email.ToString
msg.Body = "please visit http://whateveryourvalidationpageis.com to confirm

This is very old code and I just realized incorrect also:). The web config part is not needed in this case at all it doesn't look like. You can however setup your smtp server in the web config and work with it just as you do your connectionstrings. Sorry
to confuse you

Does this code need to be added to the register.vb file... or to the souce side of the register.aspx file?

it would go in the vb file. To use this code you will need to have smtp setup on the computer you are using though, which you can do through add/remove programs, windows components, and then IIS. You will also need to modify the link
that is sent in your case to have a query string field ?username=whateverthetextbox.text is. This way it will load the page and you can update their membership based on their username. good luck!
