I just got the following e-mail from my ISP:
We have had to disable your \Portals\_default\Logs directory by renaming it as every time it runs it causes 25% CPU utilization on the server. It runs fairly often so it is seriously impacting the performance of the shared
web server. Due to the severity of the effects on the shared server, please do not rename it so that it is used again. This is used by the dotnetnuke logging feature, plese turn this feature off in your dotnetnuke installation.
Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it? I am running 3.0.12.

first of all, you should consider upgrading to a newer version of DNN. As of version 3.1 (i think), the eventlog is no longer written to the file system, but to the db. Apart from this, many bugs have been solved in more current versions, and as a matter
of fact: 3.0.12 is not a release version but a beta version
Furthermore, if you logon as host, you can set which events must be logged if you go to admin > log viewer, then select "edit log configurations"....
