I hoping someone can point me in the direction of possible solution(s) for what I need to accomplish.
I'm currently developing an ASP.Net app which will allow the user to create certain reports.
Currently, one of the reports utilizes an MS Word macro to create the report in a specific format (spacing/fonts/etc.) This current report when run (which is manually), is done so via a template stored locally on the users
drive. I'm aspiring to automate this process, and "hijack" the macro by inserting the data for the user. The output is to be a .doc/.rtf file.
The problem I'm faced with is that I am not allowed (per company security) to installed Office products on the web server.
Does anyone know how I might accomplish the task at hand given the above constraint and/or other alternative solutions (i.e.-Crystal Reports)?
Thanks in advance for your time and assistance.
