Need help. I just recently upgraded from VS 2003 to VS 2005. Had an existing web project that was workiing well using SQL 2000 in my local machine. Connections and executions were workinig fine until I installed VS 2005 . Stepping through same project and
cannot connect anymore to the SQL database. I know it's using SQL 2005 express that came with VS2005. Keep getting same error message:
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error:
0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)
Question: 1) can I uninstall SQL 2005? I know I have to use SQL 2000 for work and there's no immediate plan to move to SQL 2005.
2) Is there a setting a need to do to make my connection use the SQL 2000 instead of SQL2005?
Need help ASAP!

wrs, The sql connection should not be affected by migration, your app should continue to connect using your old connection string to the SQL 2000 server, can you confirm that you are not using any v2.0 features which use sql server express as the db. One
other thing you can try is to copy just the db accessing page under a new application and running just that page.
