I have a form that requires selecting a related record. The records can not be displayed in a dropdown list because eventually could be thousands. So I would like
to be able to click on a ‘Select’ button and get a popup with the list of records, do search there, select one and get it passed back (the ID) to my opener form. I have done that in .NET but I have no idea how to do it within DNN.
I already have a Module with the records but how can I display it in a pop-up windows and if so how can I display only the module without any menu or nothing like that. Thanks.

Just create a new hidden page in DNN. Put your module on it and note the ID of the page. Then just create regular jscript to open the new window and go to the DNN page that you put that module on.
The only problem with this approach is that the pageID may be different on each installation that you put these modules on. There are ways you can get the pageID from the module name by using some of the built in DNN functions.
I think another approach would be to include a regular ASPX file in your module folder. Then you'd just need to reference it like:
