I don't have a file named thumb.db!  Only skin.html, skin.css and a folder named media that has 3 images within none of them named thumbs.

    Help!

It's a hidden file within your images folder.

Can you rename the skin to sometihng else apart from skin..

something like portal.htm or home.htm when you upload it.

Try to copy the default blue skins into a folder of it's own, and then right click, while in the folder, and zip the files but give the zip file another name - something like myblue.zip and go through the process - check to see they have installed correctly.

I do remember having someproblems - it might be coincidental-  there's not living proof- eg.. the skin yeti!  But naming a skin and folder in th skin folder subset did cause me problems.

Are you having problems with other skins or just the one you've created?

The thumbs.db file can cause a red error - but it shouldn't stop the skin from being uploaded and parsed.

Check also you don't have an ascx file that's not working, in that directory too.

    Just a few tips -

I know what it's like to be at your wits end, believe me, these last few months have made me feel like an expert at it.

You could also look at your log viewer and check the error.

When I see errrors like that - it normally means that within a td tag, there could be a couple of things running into each other - something like - width="40"height="20" - can you see there are no spaces between the td tag code.. That will always bring errors.

    Hello,

I renamed the skin to city01.html, city01.css and media folder I zipped all 3 items (there are 3 images in the media folder too) the zip name is city.zip.  I upload it and get this error:

Could Not Load Skin: /Portals/0/Skins/city/city01.ascx Error: Parser Error: The server tag is not well formed.
What does this mean?  And how can I correct it?

    Thank you Nina,

One of my problems was though I was only saving the html, css and media folder when I winzipped it I was saving it into the city folder and that caused the skin files to be too deep something like skin/skin/city/html, css, media.

and my second problem was some code that I had copyed some td weren't closed properly so that is fixed too and I'm thankful.

Next I don't know if I should start a new thread regarding the menu bar and the way I would like it to appear.  I do not have permissions to upload an image to show you my questions.  How can I show you?
