I've just created a new module in 4.0.1 and can't get the HTML formatting to display on the main page, as the HTML tags are encoded.
The text box is set to 'Rich Text Editor' and in design mode the text is formatted correctly. When I select HTML view the following text is displayed as expected.
<P><IMG height=86 alt=logo.gif src="http://localhost/DotNetNuke_2/Portals/0/logo.gif" width=279 border=0> </P>
<P>Here is some <STRONG>sample content</STRONG></P>
But when I save the page and view it, the following text is rendered on the page as per the text above. (i.e The HTML tags are not recognized by the browser)
<p> <img height="86" alt="logo.gif" src="/DotNetNuke_2/Portals/0/logo.gif" width="279" border="0" /> </p> <p>Here is some <strong>sample content</strong></p>
and when I look at the source in notepad this is displayed:
<img height="86" alt="logo.gif" src="/DotNetNuke_2/Portals/0/logo.gif" width="279" border="0" />
<p>Here is some <strong>sample content</strong></p>
any ideas why the HTML tags are being encoded?
If I edit a module supplied as part of the DNN installation the HTML is rendered correctly.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have had the same issue. It is within DesignMode that I am adding the modifications (using the buttons), and it displays fine. In HTML mode the tags look beautiful. But when I go to update the module it, for some reason it escapes
them out and displays the HTML code.
I do not know if this matters, but I am using GoDaddy...

One of those moments where you solve it once you post the problem -- in the TextEditor section, set HtmlEncode = false. If only all things in life were this simple
