We are running several DNN 2.0 and 3.0 installations on our web server, with asp.net 1.1 running in the background of course. Is the recommendation that we simply install asp.net 2.0 on this machine, alongside the asp.net 1.1? Will things continue running
smoothly? Will there be performance issues? Should I then uninstall asp.net 1.1? The goal of course is to upgrade all our websites to 4.0.
Any thoughts would be welcome.

I have asp.net 2.0 installed on all my servers. It seems to work fine next to 1.1 so do not uninstall asp.net 1.1.
Also I have been able to convert sites to DNN4 1 at a time and simply go into IIS and change the site from asp.net 1.1 to asp.net 2.0 and then copy DNN4 install files over the DNN 3 site and it upgrades.

ASP.NET 1.1 and 2.0 work well in the same box. Make sure you use different application pools for them. Otherwise it will cause trouble.

Yep. You can leave the DNN 2x and 3x site running under the default application pool. For DNN 4 installation, create a new pool and assign any DNN 4 sites to use this new application pool.
