You can supply the Connection string for the target database (another MSSQL database, or MS or Access, or Firebird, or Oracle, ...) or reference a Connection string stored in the AppSetting section of your Web.Config.
Alternatively, you can use DNNStuff's SQLView. It also allows you to define the database connection string.
