Our DNN 3.1 web site now just hangs and displays no pages. I did a trace on sql server and see 3 or 4 dnn stored procedures running when I hit the site. Other pages work, just not the default DNN app. There's not a lot of traffic now, since it's been down
awhile. But both w3wp.exe and sqlservr.exe will jump up to 100% CPU when I hit the site. I'm at a total loss as to what to do, other than scrap the entire DNN project. I'd hate to start over not knowing what went wrong.
I also get this error in the event log:
ISAPI 'C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_isapi.dll' reported itself as unhealthy for the following reason: 'Deadlock detected'.
Also, I wish I could search just the DNN forums -- the new forum upgrade is horrible! lol!
Thanks for any help!!

Any ideas on how to debug this? Is there a way to disable all the installed modules from the database?
Is there a way to disable all the installed modules from the database?
although we can't track this in the sql analyzer
Have you tried using profiler? This should hopefully show you what was last called in the DB.
Sorry I can't say here is the secret to make it all better. [:(]

Once I had this problem on a simple Access driven web application, and I almost never could find out what was exactly the problem. I applied whatever recommendation I came across on the internet such as exempting the application and temp asp.net file from
antivirus, and none worked. The only thing that helped to some extent was seting debug mode off in the web.config, which is off in the dnn web.config anyway.
What I can recommend is if you have access to the server, install Process Explorer by sysinternals, to find out exactly what dll is using up the CPU resources. That might give you a clue.

Try upgrading your TopPosts module to the one here:
You will need customer access to get to it.

What is the worker process usage on an average, healthy DNN site? My Worker Process maxes out every once in a while (often after new DLLs are loaded) and now I just routinely monitor and kill it, but I am interested in knowing what the worker process memory
usage would be on, say, localhost, if only one instance of DNN is running (and no other .net apps, etc)
Right now, my local install of DNN 3 is using 35, 000K. It was on about 70, 000K a few minutes ago.
