Hello everybody, I am a kind of a newby in this forum and with .NET at all.
Thats why I am hopeing to get some hints to solve the following situation:
There is a fresh installation of :
Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.50727
which is not able to open DNN4.0's .sln file in order built the whole portal
(which is necessary since there are no .dll delivered with the download anymore).
Visual Web Developer comes up with the error message:
The application for project "....... DotNetNuke.Libraray.vbproj" is not installed.
Make sure the application for the project type (.vbproj) is installed.
Followed by round about 20 similar messages pointing every single .vbproj file inside the library folder of DotNetNuke.
Does anyone know what this means?
Is there Visual Studio 2005 required to run DNN4.0 independent of the needed .NET framework 2.0?
Are there any tricks to manipulate the .sln or .vbproj files to avoid such errors and built everything?
thanx for your help.

If I understand you right for source code developers of DNN 4.0 there is no way to use Visual Web Developer instead of Visual Studio .Net 2005? And there is realy no work around? Just because of that od error messages? Mhh, that's seems starnge.
