I've have interesting problem that I hope someone could help me with.
My team has recently been able to convince my boss of the benefits of using dnn as the content management system for handling the brochure ware of our corporate website. That was great. But what I was really excited about , was my bosses interest in possibly
using dnn as a portal to allow customers to interact with us. There are a lot of benifits we could gain from dnn: skinning, localization, modularity, etc..We would basically port our current application into PA modules that we could snap into the dnn portal.
We are currently using our own portal framework with our own security database and design. In order for us to feasably use dnn as a portal, we would need to somehow inherantly use our own security database for authenticating user in the dnn portal.
Does anyone have any possible suggestions or solutions on how might be able to accomplish this?
Is there a module we can upload that will allow user to login into the ddn portal, authenticated from an outside security database and map/create it directly in the dnn security? I believe this will surely require me to create or modify the source code.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I do no see any issue switching to the web service. To make minimum changes, I would suggest to swap out the code in the SqlDataProvider project to access your web service for data instead of the db. Or you can create a new data provider project and call
