I'm looking for advice on how to structure my next module.
I'm planning to build a currency converter using the google api. The converter will look like a heap of others you see on the net, with From and To combo boxes to select the required currencies. In the supporting table,
each currency will have a From field and To field (both boolean), to allow the user to select and deselect currencies for each dropdown.
The way I see it I have two options with regards to how I store the data for these dropdowns.
- an XML file
- SQL table accessed using SQL data provider
Given that I want to deploy the module with existing (default) data, and the currency data is required to make it work, I'm leaning towards xml (also no need to run a SQL stored procedure to load the default data).
Could other more experienced DNNer's please provide some advice as to what would be best practice - and why.
