I have been developing using ASP.Net for about a year now but I have only now started using VS (I was using notepad before).
I seem to be having a problem referencing my classes from an aspx page. I have constructed the project in the following manner, I have all of my logical objects (e.g. members, groups, etc.) in one vb file (grouped into various namespaces). I have another
vb file that contains my web controls (e.g. creatememberform) that inherit from control and have the usual bits (e.g. implements INamingContainer, overrides CreateChildControls, etc.) and use the classes from the previously mentioned objects vb file (these
are also grouped into their own namespaces).
When I compile the project it works fine and produces a dll file. But, when I create an aspx page in the project like so -
<%@ Register TagPrefix="GroupManager" Namespace="GroupManager.Controls" Assembly = "GroupManager" %>
<form id="Form1" method="post" runat="server">
<GroupManager:CreateMemberForm runat="server" />
(i can't paste the whole thing 'cos of the html tags)
and do a test run (start button), an error page is displayed in the browser saying "Could not load type GroupManager.Controls.CreateMemberForm from assembly GroupManager, Version=1.0.2124.32399, Culture=neutral,
The thing is that its not complaining about not being able to find the assembly, or the namespace. And, there is definitely a class called CreateMemberForm in that namespace. So, I am at a loss as to what the problem could be here.

Did you add a reference to your DLL under references by right clicking and "Add Reference..." ?
