Here are some notes:
- Make sure you have a development instance of WSS/SPS. Either a separate server or Virtual PC
- Visual Studio needs to be able to see the Microsoft.SharePoint.dll. Either copy the dll from the server to the dev machine or install VS on the WSS/SPS server.
- Download the Web Part template for VS. I don't have the URL handy, but search on MSDN.
- Download the WSS/SPS SDK. (There are two different ones. Most of the WSS info is in the SPS SDK)
- Create the web part
I'm sure you'll have additional questions. Reply to this thread and we'll work it out.
