Just solved this problem thanks to some help. The trick is to open the file called "URLSCAN.INI" on the web server and to make sure that '.htc' files are allowed - most web servers block them automatically so they need to be allowed in this file - restart
IIS and everything should work fine.

Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom Level/ActiveX Controsl and Plug Ins/Binary and Script Behaviors = Enable
But can't find the URLSCAN.INI you refer to, or any other reference to a .htc file on the web server in order to fix the problem server.
