Do you have to have a password. Sounds like you can't view the feed because of a permission problem. Try using another rss feed.

I tried the URL http://www.freenewsfeed.com/rss with the same result. The error message is:
News Feed Is Not Available At This Time. Error message:Request for the permission of type System.Net.WebPermission, System, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 failed.
I have resinstalled the newsfeed and also tried another module called RSSExtra, which gives the same result. I get get to the RSS url and see the XML from a browser with no problem
I am using DNN 3.1.1
I would like to mention that my database is not named the default DotNetNuke, and I choosed another database name and simply changed this in web.config before installing, I just realised that this might not be supported. Could this have any impact ?
Thanks for your help

The database does not have to be called DotNetNuke, if you are able to add the module then you are connected to the database. Is this a local installation of DotNetNuke? (is it on your server). If so, make sure that you have the permissions set correctly.
If these are not the problems I would try a new installation of DotNetNuke.
Hope this helps.

Someone mentioned "make sure that permissions are correct. I have added the Machine\ASPNET account with change NTFS permissions. Is there anything aditional required ?
My setup is local web server on Windows XP hosting DNN 3.1.1, database is on a separate server
Funny enough I have had another install on the same machine previously that run this module with no problem
I will probably try a reinstall if I cant get any further on this.
Many thanks for all input
