I am using SQLGridSelectedView version 3.2 (last version) with my DNN 3.2 and am having the same problem with same error message. I've tried very simple SQL (e.g. SELECT Name FROM Contacts) and the @SiteSqlServer connection string as described in the user
guide, but no joy.

Please check to see if you are having a problem with Reflection. Review the detailed error message in the Admin>log Viewer. If the security issue is with reflection, change the Trust level from Medium to High in the web.config. This should allow SQLGridSelectedView
My test site and my hosted web site both operate under medium Trust, so this is not an issue with the module but rather the operating environment.
You may also find other modules would not work, but after the change now function.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for your help. The error message in the log is idential to the one I posted, so it doesnt give any clearer understanding of the problem. As to your suggestion, I don't think this is the issue, since I am running localhost.
Would appreciate more ideas

Please check the Method (6th-line) on the detail log message. It may say something like "N/A - Reflection permission required" then you need to change the trust level on your site.
I have several other users report this issue, and all were able to solve it by changing the trust level.
If changing the trust level does not help, please send me the log message (after the change) so I can reveiw.

Sorry for the long delay. I have been relocating back to Australia. I have tried your suggestion, as indeed the line re Reflection permission required was in the log. However, when I changed the web.config thus:
I couldnt get into my dnn (which is on
http://localhost/service on my laptop). The error message was something about a line in the machine config which was bad. But now I tried it again to recreate the error but couldnt. If the error comes up again I will post

Just to further clarify:
While I can't still recreate the error, changing the trust level to High did not solve the problem. I still get the same error message. I have deleted the VSWebCache, restarted the computer, but the old error is still there.

Can you please try another module like DNNStuff's SQLView. I would be interested if it has the same problems.
Unfortunately, the only solution I am ware of is the change in trust level.

I've tried Dave's AdvancedDataGrid and indeed same error message, although the trust level=High is still there.
Please let me know if you come across a solution.

Did anyone ever solve this? I am running ADG, SQLSelectView and XMod Remote data on DNN 3.2.1 and am getting errors on all. SQLSelectView will load on a page, but when I try to run a basic SELECT it bombs with
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Request failed. ---> System.Security.SecurityException: Request failed. at TressleWorks.SQLGridSelectedView.SQLGridSelectedView.PopulateDropDown(Int32
pidx, SelectOptions poSelection) at TressleWorks.SQLGridSelectedView.SQLGridSelectedView.PopulateSelections() at TressleWorks.SQLGridSelectedView.SQLGridSelectedView.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)
The other two bomb when I try to load the module on the page.
I set the trust to High and per WH4L, my host, they are allowing the webconfig to override the machine.config.
<trust level="High" originUrl="http://localhost/.*" />
If anyone can help I am willing to fund their PayPal account!!!
