I am having a hell of a time getting DNN setup on my host's server. I tried just installing it directly to the server and letting DNN do it's normal install process. This didn't work. It said it did, but after trying to run it was discovered that alot
of the SQL data was missing. So, my next solution was to try and run the the source locally, but hit the database on my host and hope that this would get around any permissions problems that may have existed. This bombed during the install with some error
about a thread being terminated. So, my next idea was to setup the whole thing locally and copy both the code and SQL schema/data to the host server. I did this and now when I browse to the site, IE just spins indefinitely. Is there something somewhere
that ties the code to a particular machine or a path on the machine that I may need to update after copying it this way?
I will be very grateful for any help that anyone can provide me to help get this running. At this time, it's starting to look like I may have to go to a DNN host in order to be able to run this and I really don't want to do this since it appears there are
none out there that offer the same space as I get with my current host (brinkster.com) for an equal price.
