Hello everyone. I am new to DNN and I have watched several videos from the dotnuke website and I have several questions:
1. Can someome give me a good plain example of intermodule communication?
2. If you do not have codesmith, how do you create the necessary stored procedures for a custom module?
3. Does a custom module need a data provider if it doesnt use stored procedures or a database? Suppose I want to create
a hello world modules, all it does is display hello world. I can compile the project and upload into DNN; however, it is complaining about a sql.dll file. This leads me to two more questions:
A. What if a module doesnt use a database or does it have to?
B. How do I add a dataprovider project without codesmith?
Thanks for your help and patience.
P.S. before referring me to the videos, I have watched them all - I dont have codesmith and I need to know how to do this
in Visual Studio.

Give a quick read of this:
Creating a DotNetNuke Module using notepad
It may answer a lot of your questions.

I have also seen (somewhere, but not sure where) DotNetNuke style templates for MyGeneration.
