I am having a problem installing a child portal in DNN 3.013. It installed OK the first time but then when I tried to access it (using Firefox) I got the error message : Redirection limit for URL exceeded. It suggests a cookie problem but I have set the
browser to accept all cookies. When this occures in Firefox, it sometimes opens OK in Internet Explorer but not always. I am using a Windows 2003 server platform.
And then today I tried to delete the old child portal and create a new one off the same parent portal. Now it bombs out with the error: Signup is currently unavailable, etc. and I cant even delete the faulty child portal.
I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong and would hate to have to reinstall the parent portal since it is in use.
Thanks for the help in advance.

There is a simple way to remove the offending portal.
Step 1. Go to Database, Access Portals table, remove the portal entry which matches the damaged portal. (Note Portal ID)
Step 2. Go to the main DNN root folder, and remove the folder that matches the name of the portal you just removed from the DB
Step 3. Go to the Portals directory in DNN, and remove the folder that matches the Portal ID of the portal you removed from the DB in step 1.
Done. Note that all this should not be attempted till a backup of your site and DB exists
Hope this Helps,
