I just started looking into DNN and it seems to be a great framework. However, I'm a little confused of what it's capable of doing.
I would like to be able to plug in my own aspx pages (with codebehind in cs) which basically read and write to my own sql db. Generate tables by reading from that db, etc. I would also like to take advantage of the user management feature of DNN as well.
E.g. retrieve data only belonging to the current logged in user.
Is this possible with DNN?

Have you looked into module develpment? I know some developers have created custom pages (or apps) and used IFrames to display the contents, but I'm not sure if or how they took advanage of DNN Security (other than security of the IFrame).
Custom modules do have the ability to use any data source to pull data. You might want to take a look at one of the modules that comes with DNN but has not been installed yet. The Survey moudule is one of the first ones I looked at, found under the DesktopModules
folder. There is also a Module development guide in the documentation folder as well a number of videos available on DNN's site.
Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply.
if it would be necessary to go through the module path, what about developing a module that would load any aspx page? of course, it's just an idea, not sure if it's even possible or not.
