VS.NET 2002/3 does not make it easy to add intellisense support for your customcontrols. The solution mentioned in the above post is the only one I know and its not very elegent.
VS.NET 2005 has solved this problem making intellisense support automatic.

Sorry to resurrect such an old post, but I am using VS.NET 2005 and am experiencing the exact same problem. I simply subclassed DataGrid, added no new functionality, and intellisense support for nested content in the DataGrid html is absent. Specifically,
typing the opening '<' does not drop down any options, and it highlights capitalized property names like Width and CssClass complaining that capitalized attribute names are not allowed (although this complaint would not be present if using the stock DataGrid
directly.) Am I missing something?
