I have had difficulty installing application
Re: Installing Portal: Get Database Connection Failed for localhost
I realised that it was looking for localhost instead of ("local" my PC's default name) with no option to alter whilst installling.
I used the 'Remote' instead of 'local' location tot install.
But how do I now attach the database. I have located database related files (without extensions) in the setup folder wich are mirrored in the installer folder.
C:\Program Files\ASP.NET Starter Kits\ASP.NET Portal (CSVS)\Setup
C:\Program Files\ASP.NET Starter Kits\ASP.NET Portal (CSVS)\Setup\Cmd Installer\SQL Scripts
Which folder/files should I choose and how do I put them into the my sql server, do I need to add extensions?
Thanks in advance

I had the same problem. I found the answer in a post from Romania:
* Run the install, and when choosing locel or remote...choose REMOTE
* The install should complete and a readme file should pop up with instrucctions for running the scripts
If you don't see the file it is the readme.htm file in the SETUP folder where you installed the app.
* Open Query Analyzer and connect to your server, then run the scripts listed in the readme file.
* The readme also describes how to change your web.config file - change the server to you server's name, remove the "trusted connection" gack, and set the user/password to PortalUser (case sensitive on password!)
You should be able to hit your site!
