Tam and others,
First off, let me thank you for your efforts. You are a great contributer to the DNN community and you've been rightly invited to join the core team. I do however have a couple of reflections on the Forums module.
1. The use of solpartmenu to navigate the forums. Solpartmenu is difficult to look nice/professional and I can't get a decent navigation system with it. Why bother when you have the breadcrumbs?
2. Despite efforts by Nina, I still feel aspnetforums (i.e. community forums) looks nicer. Can't we mimick that kind of look and feel? Or vBulletin (php).
3. The real strength for me in a dnn/forums module would be if I could select to build up a tree (i.e. groups and forums under that), or go straight into a single forum. You've chosen to have groups separate from forums. Why not have these as the same entities?
In fact, at every place you find yourself, you could add threads, much as you can add files to any folder in a file system. That would make it more logically coherent in my opinion.
Just my 2cts, not a gripe,
