Is there anybody out there you can give me some guidance on how to provide a Windows Web Hosting solution with FrontPage Extensions, but I have to also ensure high availability.
FrontPage extensions are not supported on Microsoft clusters (KB: 281314) and also do not make sense with NLB because what side will be the writable and how will hit counters increment on more than one web server?
I'm investigating if Application Center or WSS can provide this functionality, but I'm sure there must be someone out there that provides FPSE and also guarantees the uptime through a multiple server web farm.

I've either asked a really stupid question or nobody has done this? Can someone at least indicate if this is possible?

This is possible but with some caveats. I believe I posted a response to this before. The issue you could potentially run into is based around the fact that certain operations within Front Page, such as creating subwebs make changes to the IIS metabase
because it creates new virtual directories etc. Because of this you would have to replicate these changes across multiple servers. Many people force publishing operations to a master node which would then replicate these changes across the farm. So my answer
is that it is possible and I have seen and have implemented similar configurations. If you have any additional questions please let me know.

Can you please tell me what mechnism one would use to replicate the metabase?

Most people I've dealt with have written code to do this. What version of Windows and IIS are you running?
