My programmer is have trouble getting DNN 3.0.13 DB & My Custom app tables that runs on the web with many Portal Aliases to work from localhost. As soon as you logon or any tab it reverts back to the portal 0 URL.
I have it simulated at portal.quotes4.biz which has the DB from quotes4.biz where I have added Portal Aliases for: portal.quotes4.biz,
www.portal.quotes4.biz & localhost/DotNetNuke in quotes4.biz from the menu host, Portal, edit portal 0 . At
http://www.quotes4.biz/ if I select Home tab it takes me to
http://quotes4.biz/Default.aspx?TabId=141 and similar things happen to all menus.
I am looking for other threads that may have this explained or somewhere in the DOC that it is covered. I have the book Building Websites with vb.net & DotNetNule 3.0 also.
The programmer needs to be able to run debug trace locally to assist in programming.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

On the local version, did you go to the Host "Site" page and update the Portal Alias' to point to local Virtual Directories? The Portal Alias table has to be updated to point to the local virtual directories, otherwise it will continue to redirect to the
directories that are established in that table.
Login as Host, click on the Site Icon in the upper right corner (DNN version 3.x). Scroll to the bottom and update the Portal Aliases to point to the local virtual directories. You may want to setup separate local virtual directories for each Portal and
then point to those local virtual directories.
I hope that is what you are trying to do and I hope that helps.
