i'm probably missing the obvious here but......
what if i want to create a new page which does not tie directly under a tab. let's say i want my main page beneath a tab called 'Home' to have a link to a stand-alone page. and lets say my stand alone page has several portal modules on it.
a) how do i create a stand-alone page that isn't tied directly to a tab?
b) how can i edit the stand alone page as i edit tab-tied pages? it would be nice if i could bring up the stand alone page and have all the edit capabilities of the regular tab-tied pages.

yeah i was afraid of that. i think they should have design like a blank template which would be similar to the desktopdefault.aspx along with an edit page for the template. then, some way to add modules to the template and edit it via the administrator's
role without the template having to be tied to a tab. or, more generally, a way to bring up a page for editing which isn't tied to a tab.

the Announcements module has a "read more..." link which takes you to basically a blank page (on the online sample) but it is never explained how you are supposed to create/edit that linked page.
