I read in WSS's Administrators Guide that you can create multiple domain-named sites per virtual server (For example, Server1 hosts http://user1.company.com, http://user2.company.com, http://user3.company.com, and so on. Each of these sites is a top-level
Web site on the same virtual server, but they are mapped to different URLs. There can be one or many content databases, depending on the scale.)
But I cannot figure out how you do it... I named a new site with DNS after I created a new Web Site on IIS 6.0 and from the central adminstration page of Sharepoint I extended the web site with a new content database and a new application pool...IT worked
just fine..!!But I want to put other top-level sites in the same virtual server of WSS with different host names, is it possible? And if yes how?
And another thing ..I have also AD where are all the users of Sharepoint, the issue is that when I create a new virtual server of WSS, I try to add other site's same users but the new web site(virtual server) cannot recognize the users of AD with the domain
name(tha same) and creates a new one with a number in the end (ex if I was mxag in the
http://something now it creates the mxag5 in the
http://somethingelse) Thanks a lot...(I hope that somenone can understand something from all of these..[:S])

I'm not a WSS guy, but from IIS perspective you can host multiple sites using 1 IP with host header, refer
HOW TO: Use Host Header Names to Configure Multiple Web Sites in Internet Information Services 6.0

There are really three routes you can take:
If you're a hoster, than you should go with option 1 or 2. If you're not a hoster, you can leverage the documentation of 1 and 2, but the license model for MPS is restricted to Service Providers via the Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA).
All of the options above provide the ability to create
www.customer1.com , www.customer2.com, etc. sites in a single WSS Farm.
