I can hardly wait! And I hope the Express Editions will be updated too.
I'll keep my eyes open! [8-)]

That would be awesome...I've been checking sites daily for news of the release of beta 2. As soon as it is released, any idea if everyone will be able to download it right away, or will an MSDN subscription be required until later? Thanks!

This is what I got from my source at MS yesterday (4/4/05)...
"B2 has been signed off by QA so it should be released in a few days.."

Looks like we're all wrong -
The Beta Experience will be available in your region from the 25th of April.

I assume beta 2 is released a couple of weeks before that beta-experience package (which contains a compilation of tools and information, which will take some time to put together).
According to Scott Guthrie, beta 2 is about ready to be code-signed and shipped:

For people who are interested in this topic, there's a simular discussion on the MSDN forums (where a lot of MSFT employees can be found): http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=155
Quote by Ajay Sudan (MSFT) on april 10th:
"Expect to see Beta 2 released on MSDN and available for ordering very, very, very soon..."
Now I wonder what 'very, very, very soon' means. Do I still got time to take another cup of coffee in the meantime? ... [:D]

I've already added a shortcut to MSDN Subscriber Downloads on my QuickLink bar - don't want to waste valueable seconds typing in addresses and such.
Now all I need is something to download..

Looks like the Beta 2 build is currently being prepped to go live on MSDN subscriber downloads (available begin of next week):

Microsoft employees said at our .NET user group meeting that Beta2 will be out today. I would wait one week and use the link below to order a DVD, Microsoft will only charge you for the shipping only $9.20 when last I checked. This link has been available
since July 29, 2004 when the public beta was released at Tech Ed Europe. You don't need MSDN subscription to play with their products because they are required by the Goverment to provide the none compliable version of all their laguages to book publishers
for education, you only need boolean searches. Hope this helps.

Yeah..."only" charging me for shipping. haha That's a good one. What are they shipping me for $9.20, a brick? [:)] I paid it for beta 1, and I'm sure I'll pay it for beta 2...I'm just glad that they do offer us an early version.

I heard it will be a few days before it will get to MSDN. Maybe I'll get the CD's before it gets to MSDN. It does seem as if the bits have finally dropped. I'm hoping this version will coexist with 2003 and Asp.Net 1.1. Does anyone know if it will?

for those that we live in Europe and don't have a MSDN Subscription, to order the cd we have to wait until April 25th.
This is what the
Beta Xperience is saying today: "Only 8 days before the Beta Experience starts..."
Anxious to get Beta 2.
Apr 17, 2005 08:49 AM|markfitzme|LINK
No, beta 2 is there. The problems is, since MS has so many download servers it takes time for them all to have new content pulled from the primary. What I've done is just refresh the TOC a few times to see if comes up in the tree. If that doesn't work I
usualy re-boot and check it again. It's definitely there though as I downloaded it and it's companion bits yesterday afternoon.
Hope this helps,
