UPDATE: The way I resolved this is to delete the dnn.config file (after wiping out the database) Thx for all your suggestions!
Hey team, having a problem setting up the database: (completely blank and DNN pukes and coughs up an error page.) http://localhost is not an option, hosting company will not allow it. database is empty and ready to go. getting a configuration error: "mydomain.com
does not exist in database" error. what gives? I thought this was fixed in 2.x. Will someone please help me? Better yet, will someone fix to help everyone else? The installation seems to be a kludge at best. (even thought the database upgrade scripts do work
VERY well). Whoever is on the Core Team of DNN, please the blank/database, remote/install, (forget the localhost URL).

create blank database
give proper rights to a user
unzip dnn3 into folder
create web app pointing to that folder
update webconfig for db and user
browse to www.domain.com/dnn3 and away u go - not sure what the problem is - works for me

My problem appears to be at the database end of things,
whe I create a user for teh SQL databases on my Hosting Companys SQL Server they are
not a member of the db_owner group, so it falls over.

do you have access to sql enterpise manager?
if so browse to the newly created database and select Users - add a new user - slect the one you created earlier - and then tick db owner

No Can Do.
I have access to the database using enterprise manager,
but I do not have sufficient priviliges to add myself to the db_owner group.
