Hi Everybody, Did anybody get Ngallery to work on version 2.1.2 yet? I haven't seen any post saying "yes". I'm looking for a gallery which works without a SQL server. I need albums but don't need detailed picture information. "Filmstrip" type of view or slide
show would be nice. That's why I'm interested in Ngallery. Thanks
Hi, I am very close to getting Photo Viewer done. I had hoped to release it already, but there are a couple of bugs. There will be a free Community Edition of the module. You can preview it here:
http://www.pix4pals.com Pictures are organized in a folder hierarchy exactly as stored on the filesystem.
Nik, I'm ready for that module and I actually need it this week! What can I do to be a beta or to help you (except I can't code). The other functionality I want is searching within descriptive information but I'd be happy to wait! Eagerly, Jack
This is an awesome image gallery.... I would love to have a copy to use on my companies intranet. When do you think you will have a version ready for downlaod?
Nik, how hard is it to add in music/video viewing ...? I know you like to do things and give them away.... I think there is a market for this..... The only thing I can find that I like is tttgallery but who knows if that will be 3.x or not... off topic but
there is Media Gallery 1.7 .. but I just dont like how it displays pictures.. and video opens the stand alone player not a page with a player in it ... dont like captions on top!
Jack: Search (of meta data and EXIF) will be in the initial release. WishIKnew: Unless I find more insect life in the code, the module will be released this week. Brian: I feel that making the feature set too broad results in a sub-standard app. I don't envision
Photo Viewer ever displaying anything but photos. I think audio/video is better browsed in a media-specific module. I have contemplated creating a Media Viewer module, but no definite plans yet. However, if someone really wants it sooner rather than later,
I would be happy to create it ...for a fee, of course. ;-)
I too would be interested in the ability to customize what information is displayed. I'd prefer an option to just show a caption and no photo information. Also, the demo allowed the user to pick the viewing size and columns. I have a fixed width website and
would prefer to have this set my me and not give users the option. Jason
If the module would have supported video , it would have been awsome, so users can upload small video files. If possible to show the first frame of the video as a thumbnail it would be even better. how much money for such a development ? i might want to purchase
it.
Can we agree on one video format? wmv (and wma)? (this way it can play music too.. mp3 needed?) I like how the thumbnails and previewer are on the same page! Nik, you already do this with your NukeEditor (hope I have the name right). Play video that is.
Are you going to release a DNN 3.X version soon, or will we have to wait for the gold version of DNN 3 for this. I am in the process of upgrading my site, and I think I will be using this for the gallery, looks fantastic.
he will add video and audio support, release a beta this weekend .. and then send us a case of wine ... :) ok... anyhow I bought the NukeHTML from him today as some encouragement... :)
agreed, but I am upgrading my beta site now, and its awful hard to do with no modules for DNN 3. Yes I understand its beta, its not done, developers are waiting etc.
...working on implementing some of the feature suggestions from this thread into PhotoViewer. I'll post an updated version on pix4pals.com over the weekend, and if it's stable enough, a download package also. Nik
Just about everything in the U.I. is customizable through the module's skin CSS (44 style classes for each skin). So you can implement transitions and such with reckless abandon. Nik
For the upload part you need to purchase FMP (File Manager Pro) from niks site or snowcovered when its ready, not out for DNN 3 Yet. not sure about the DNN3 search
Here are the answers to some of the questions: Speerio Photo Viewer is available in two editions: Pro Edition and Community Edition. The Photo Viewer Pro Edition will be included with Speerio File Manager Pro v2.5. The Photo Viewer Community Edition is free
for personal and business use, but it may not be re-sold, either as a product or a service. The main limitations of the Community Edition are that you have no administration capabilities (as these are built into FMP): - You have to manage photos using FTP
or some other file management solution. - You cannot rotate, resize, crop or watermark the photos - You cannot edit the meta data - A link to Speerio's website is included by default at the bottom, but you are free to remove it from the .ascx file I would
like to say that both modules will be ready when they're ready, but because I am working on stabilization, I'll go out on a limb and say that both will be released this week. These modules have been a long time in the making and I am quite eager to get them
out. Meanwhile, here's a fun module and DNN community project you can check out:
Got NetNuke?
Basically, everything that I could not squeeze into 2.5, namely: - 3.x compatibility - File/folder ACL's - More tree-centric features beyond folder drag and drop - Improvement of upload versioning from 2.5 - Auditing - and a few other things...
Do you see video / audio support being in any of those? That is really what determines my purchase.... I have people that want to present 'art', which might be a graphic, video or audio. I just want one module to do that... to make it simple for them. Nik what
is that module that gotnetnuke uses .. just iframe .. or something else you sell. (If you can reply to my email with a number .. I have a question for you and would be willing to pay for any time you spend with me.)
gotnetnuke uses Speerio Navigator. It's a module that lets you create a tree hierarchy of folders/nodes on left with content (HTML, URL, RSS, File Manager, Photo Viewer) on the right. I don't envision adding A/V to the Photo Viewer, but I'll keep an open mind
about it. I emailed you.
Some people in this thread are interested in an a/v solution like your photo viewer.. if we all shared the cost .. is that something you would consider doing .. or at a reduced cost and you could sell it as you wish? Is it difficult to add in windows media
support ..? Thanks.
anybody .. I thought there was an interest. For me: video / audio support... maybe windows media is fine (which is video and I think audio/mp3) Ability to select a category and have it only display that type. For example, you have graphic, audio, video all
on in directory. A setting could say display graphic, video, audio (or any combination). That is about it for me.
I e-mailed with Nik from Speerio and he is very busy at the moment to port his modules to DNN3. This week he finished FMP 2.5 for DNN2 and DNN3. This module is important for some of his other modules. Also for his photo viewer, but not neccesary. With FMP
you can upload more then one photo at a time.
Nik will relaese them as soon as he finished his products, but as always programmers get a lot of unexpected problems to fix. So be patient, because from what i have seen from FMP it is realy finished and couldn't find any bug. Just give Nik some more credit,
it will come and i am waiting for it to.
