cloris this seems logical to me too--I'm in the process of building an N-layer ASP.NET app also and you've answered my question perfectly. One question I did have, is if I am acquiring a collection of items, should that static method go in my "item" class,
or my "itemcollection" class? (I have these two classes broken out into two separate .cs files) If I wanted to implement a static method called GetItems(), where should it go.
It seems you've mentioned putting this method in the "item" class, but I just wanted to be sure I am understanding right.
I know it probably really doesn't matter a ton since it's a static method, but is there a preference?
