  Simply because of the lack of the round trip via http, the dll will be faster. There might be other reasons that you need a Webservice (architecture, security, maintenence, etc). Lee

  Obviously DLL will be faster, sine it is in the same box. But if you have a business logic like, you want to get information or request from remote place, then you have to use WebService, eventhough performance is less than DLL, because of business case ; )
