I have a simple ASP MVC api that is called from a third party application that uses a URL to call my internal website/api.
All works well but I want to close the browser window and tab that is opened by the api when the user clicks a 'close' button on the index page of the api.
I would like to return the user interface back to the calling third party app after the user clicks on the 'close' button.
Ive tried opening then closing a new window using jscript but the browser tab remains open.
I understand that browser security changes a few years ago restricts jscript to only close windows that were previously opened by jscript.
Is there a way around this?

No. Most browsers fixed the workarounds.
