I have never seen this behavior before but I have always used FBA authentication previously.
So we have a webserver in our DMZ (not on the network) and on here we host an ASP.NET site for staff.
Staff log on using a local windows account and all is well. However, if they put their phones (seems to be more common with iPhones) down for a while (could be an hour or more) without closing the browser and then attempt to interact with the site again it
will just think and think for ages and ultimately say the server did not respond.
I'm wondering whether the session has expired and because it is not FBA there is no new prompt for credentials. I am not actively using any session variables etc. so it may be internal workings of ASP.NET?
Could I be on the right track or am I way off track?
Has anyone else experienced this and no what to do? I'd prefer not to have to rewrite the web app to use FBA if possible.
