I need to implement cross micro services communication in azure functions, at this time my main aim is to validate a JWT, but I am also going to need this to build viewModels for easier querying later on.
I was looking at gRPC, which doesn't seem to be supported in IIS, but I can't find anything on RPC on azure functions at all.
I am assuming i would need an RPC trigger (which would be similar in principle to the signalr trigger) which I can't find any mention of, because without it i won't have an endpoint to hit. Because I don't seehow i could setup a server end within a function.
The person i was talking to about it through azures hasn't been overly helpful as he has generally been talking about azure and not"Azure Functions" and is now away.
Any thoughts or information would be appriciated. (the only knowledge I have or RPC is watch a few videos on gRPC which looks ideal for what i need)

According to this
issue, it seems that azure function team doesn't provide gRPC as a configurable endpoint trigger now.

that article is two years old, seems a little odd that theres no support yet
also it is features in the micro service examples and information(although not azure functions)
its also support on amazon AWS
So is a REST API over http the only option for small calls which need an imidiate response? on azure functions?

this also says gRPC-web is supported
but can i implement it into azure functions at all?

The issue has function PG update at jan 2020. They say this issue is no update.
As far as I know, the web-grpc also couldn't work as gRPC trigger in Azure function.
