I am working on a MVC web application. While runnung the application using Ctrl + F5 I get "a new guard page for the stack cannot be created " pop up and IIS stops. I am using visual studio 2019. I have searched for similar posts / solutions online but
no go. Any idea?

The community needs at least basic information.
Start by providing code that reproduces the exception and explaining how your application works. Rather than ctrl +F5 perhaps run the code through the debugger to find the line of code that causes the issue and start debugging from this line.

There are no exceptions. It was working fine earlier with some issues of performance which would last for ever unless VS is terminated from task manager and restarted. Its just a alert box with "a new guard page ..." message. Even before any html is rendered,
iis is terminated and page cannot be displayed message is shown. This happens even before debug points are hit.

This means your code accessed invalid memory. Probably stack overflow, or com, or native library.

According to your description, I recommend that you check your code to make sure it doesn't get stuck in a dead loop.
Or give us your code for reference, which will help us solve your issue more easily.
