IMO looking at the product documentation/tutorials is always a good idea: https://learn.jquery.com/ajax/
https://www.w3schools.com/ is a bit simplistic but can help to ease maybe the very start and allows to "play" online with samples...

if you just want the ajax feature of jQuery, you should look at axios, which is a very popular ajax library.

According to your requirements, your other respondents have given you many good tutorials.
I have found a case of jQuery and Ajax used in MVC project.
When you read the basic documentation, it is a good choice to refer to this case.
