I have a contact form that is working fine on my website. It goes to MailEnable which is mail program on my host server and then I set it up to be forwarded to me.
But I have another mail account set up so if user tries to log in and have forgotten their pw, they can submit the request and if they answer their secret question, the website sends it to their email they set up. That message is sent from from <mail@MYWEBSITE.COM>
I use an account on my host called MailEnable that stores emails and with that account I can forward all email from that account to whichever email I use. I use Live.com mostly. So I'm not sure what I need to do in web.config file for that setup. Is that smtp
I did some test emails, and it is not working because there is nothing in that MailEnable account and nothing showing in the sent folder. Also, None of the test emails I have show that message coming through.
My host gave me these settings for what I need if using SMTP:
Mail server username: mail@MYWEBSITE.com
Incoming mail server: h11.plesklogin.net
Outgoing mail server: h11.plesklogin.net (server requires authentication)
Supported incoming mail protocols: IMAP Port: 993
Supported outgoing mail protocols: SMTP Port : 587
But since this mail is being stored on the host server and I control where its forwarded, i'm not sure if that is using SMTP. I.e., I'm not setting up the mail to go directly to my outlook account
or gmail, etc. Its being stored on host server in MailEnable.
That being the case, I need advise on how to set it up. This is how it is now (which is not working)
<network host="127.0.0.1" port="8025"/>
Years ago, when testing my site, it did work so I'm not sure if I changed my code or it stopped because of my webhosts changing a couple of times over the years.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hope I explained this clearly.

According to your description, I think you should add username and password in the mailsetting , you could set up mail in web.config as below:
