Hi, I have an office add ins dll project created in visual studio 2013. I would like to call this project from asp.net webforms page so that I can create MS Word document from my web application. Kindly let me know how can I do this. If this is not possible,
kindly suggest the best method to work with MS Word from within asp.net webforms.
Thanks and regards,

It's not possible and/or recommended depending on your design which is unclear.
Use the OpenXML SDK to work with Word.

According to your description, my opinion is that you can achieve this function.
You could create an Office Add-in by using Visual Studio or any other edito. Here you could choose Visual Studio.
Then make sure that your visual studio installs the Office/SharePoint module. If not, you should update it in Visual Studio Installer.
Next you need to create a solution that contains two projects, which are Add-in project and Web application project.
The Add-in project contains an XML manifest file that contains settings for the office host to determine when the add-in should be activated and where the add-in should be displayed.
Web application project contains all the files and file references needed to develop HTML and JS pages that support office.
Then update the code and update the manifest.
Finally, try using Visual Studio debugging, choose the "Home" tab in word, and then select the "Show Taskpane" button to open the add-in task pane for testing.
